Girl In Florence started in late January 2012 as a pet project by me, Georgette Jupe. A labor of love after being constantly frustrated trying to find updated information that interested me about my own city of Florence, Italy, translated from Italian to English.

Now Girl in Florence has become more than just life in Florence. I write about a variety of subjects, including culture clashes, local events, and an ever-evolving and popular food list, and I seek to offer insider, curated travel tips from all over the world with a humorous yet informed edge from the perspective of two thirty-somethings (my husband and I) looking to understand it all.

Girl in Florence offers a great platform for luxury platforms, travel offices and hotel brands to connect with a highly engaged global audience from countries such as the USA, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and Continental Europe that has remained a consistent point of reference since 2012 and shows no signs of slowing down.

On a professional level, I have been working as a social media consultant for ten years with International clients interested in reaching a mainly English-speaking audience (notable clients include Hotel Savoy in Florence and the J.K Place Hotel Brand). This is in addition to working as a freelance writer in publications which include Italy Magazine, Time Out, Lonely Planet, International Living, National Geographic (book), among others. You will also see my work at ITALY Magazine as I was the digital managing editor for eight years (the torch has now been passed to Mary Gray as of July of this year), where I handled a team of freelance writers.

On a personal level, it has been really exciting to see this blog grow and continue to be inspiration to write and share my personal life experiences living and working from the beautiful Renaissance city of Firenze.

What am I available for?

  • Editorial Reviews: Invite Girl in Florence to experience your service, hotel, vacation destination (travel costs must be covered) and I will write about the experience and share with my readers if I feel like it fits my audience. I normally travel with my partner and prefer a non-group more, private experience sort of tour. I am open only to very specific kinds of product collaborations, related to travel & health & beauty and fashion. This includes social media coverage on my social networks. Be aware that I fully disclose any free exchange on the blog to my readership.
  • Blog/Press Tours – I cover travel extensively and I absolute enjoy doing unique tours based around local traditions, boutiques, artisans, food, culture. I am very selective about which blog tours I go on because of work but feel free to reach out. The travel section of my blog has become bigger than ever and I am very open to exploring other areas of Europe and writing about those experiences. Keep in mind that all travel costs should be covered in order for me to accept an International blog tour or Instameet.
  • Speaking Engagements: I love talking about what inspired me to come to Italy, working freelance from anywhere in the world and travel blogging, I have done a TEDx talk for NYU in Florence in 2013 and would be interested in doing more. I also work as a social media consultant and would be open to seminars/speeches.

I am not interested in unsolicited guests posts on articles that would ‘interest my readers’. As far as I am concerned that would be a ‘sponsored post’ for which there is a fee. 99% of my blog is non-sponsored program and I accept very few proposals unless they are right for the blog and for my readers.

  1. Totally agree with Serena, I’m surprised we’re the only ones commenting on this page. That’s one of the smartest and most effective presentations I’ve seen on a website. Very inspiring indeed, brava Georgette!
