Middle East Now film festival in Florence

Make Hummus Not War

One of my favorite film festivals in Florence, Italy is coming up the next week at the Odeon Cinehall and Stensen – Middle East Now. For someone who is self-admittedly a little obsessed with the Middle East – what better way to quench your curiosity than a few days of wonderful movies (with subtitles) and great food! Yes they serve food at some of the events and it’s always fantastic! What is ‘Middle East now’? As per their description — “Middle…

50 days of International cinema in Florence – 2012 edition

odeon 50days

It’s back again – the now annual “50 days of International films” in Florence, Italy. It happens to be one of my favorite events of the year. April is a funny month, both in the mood of the weather gods for example, is it going to rain OR not? and the information for events.…

Film Festival Fever in Florence this spring, yes!

MOVIES! This week me and t-man grabbed a pizza at Gusta in S. Spirito (yum!) and headed to one of our favorite things to do in Florence, which is watching a movie at the Odeon cinehall in the center. An early 20th-century theatre, complete with intact balcony seats and Tiffany-style cupola (amazing!),  and a mainstay for anyone looking for english movies in Florence. Normally the show original language shows are on Tuesdays and Thursdays and their website and program can…
