Happy birthday to my partner-in-crime and better-dressed-other-half @nicopradier.

Truth be told, I can’t imagine doing life with anyone but him, a guy who always puts tangible actions before words.

Suffice to say, 37 looks great on you babe 💕

I have long been a fan of @robertomarrr’s artisa

I have long been a fan of @robertomarrr’s artisan Scandinavian goodies— since he was based in the @b.eastgallery which is why it was such a cool thing to see @wildbunsbakery_florence come to fruition on Via Camaldoli. I love that you can see the action in the kitchen that brings Florence delicious, homemade baked goods. I’ll always be a fan of the classic cinnamon bun.. but I have to say his seasonal pumpkin spice bun is seriously addictive.

Keep up the hard work Robert and we’ll be back soon for more buns and your sourdough bread!!! #yourflorence #girlinflorence

Bella Firenze 💕. While October is definitely not low season in ANY sense of the word (so many groups!) the sun is shining with a vengeance and morning jackets are easily tossed away in the afternoon hours as people make their way across squares and streets and bridges. It’s always good to be home 💕. #yourflorence

The last time we were in Venice it was February 20

The last time we were in Venice it was February 2020. There was a strange, tense energy in the air as rumors of covid started to spread.

Now I’m here two years later, after a move to Switzerland and a baby who is fast approaching 18 months. Sure, things have changed but.. I have to say Venice is still Venice. A surreal and beautiful place that is hard to navigate yet so fun to get lost (good shoes mandatory).

It is especially enchanting in the nighttime, when the sound of suitcase wheels over cobblestones and bridges morphs into music and laughter as the waves slowly crash down on stone streets.

This weekend is all about celebrating a good friend @efiumi, one of those people who has a magnetic energy about her, a bit like this city. I don’t get many chances to travel solo these days so I’m ready to take full advantage. Luckily @hotelallangelo has this fabulous aperitivo nook where you can grab a spritz (I’m feeling the Select version lately) and watch the gondoliers and taxi boats go by. Let the weekend begin ❤️ #girlinvenice #supplied

September and wine go hand in hand as it’s harve

September and wine go hand in hand as it’s harvest season in Tuscany🍷🍂. A bountiful time both literally and figuratively for the land and the people whom work on it.

This is definitely one of those weeks that I could use some of Italy’s finest vintages…🤪

Naturally with some deadlines looming and plans on the horizon, we had a sick baby on our hands and yeah… you know how it goes. Is it ok to go outside? Oh crap she’s not eating… wait how many diapers did we change today? Let me convert from Celsius to Fahrenheit again.

Anyway, she’s definitely doing better but I will definitely enjoy a glass tonight and reminisce about days like this one frolicking in the vineyards of @ilborrowines ‘picking grapes’ with the family and eventually enjoying a bbq directly in the vineyard. What memories 😍 @megandeangelo @ilborro @erinpirozzini @arttrav

If you want to join some of Tuscany’s grape harvest festivals or markets: here are a few to save.

— Festa dell’Uva di Impruneta (96th edition) in Piazza Buondelmonti. Think floats, food and a ton of people.

— Keep an eye out for Il Carro Matto in the center of Florence this Saturday which appears in the main squares of the city (think large wine bottles in flasks shaped like a pyramid on a large cart pulled by oxen) from the Rufina producing area. Naturally there will be a blessing and offering of wine.

— Join a lecture and wine tasting at the @britishinstituteflorence featuring Tenuta degli Dei (a winery near Panzano di Chianti)which is owned and operated by the Cavalli family since the 70s. The event will take place on the 28th.

— Looking for a wine tour worth the grapes? @curiousappetite can organize a fun visit to the countryside for tastings at smaller producers with a knowledgeable guide.

While everyone knows Naples as the birthplace of m

While everyone knows Naples as the birthplace of mouthwatering pizza, #yourflorence has some pretty superb spots as well. I’ve long been a fan of Giotto Pizzeria on Zona Novoli but even happier there is a location in the center run by talented pizzaiolo @marcomanzigiotto (awarded both hb @gambero_rosso and @50toppizza). It’s fun to go with a few friends and share some pies so you can try classic favorites along with some special varieties (one of which features steak!)

Not pictured but devoured: pasta frittatine and a delectable rum baba.

It can be tough finding good leather in Florence from a true artisan — especially when the #MadeinItaly label is thrown around so casually and truth be told quality can be iffy at markets.

Not all items are created equally which is why I’ve dedicated blog posts to this exact subject (I’ll link in my stories).

Here are a few places I love in Florence for leather accessories/shoes/bags and more!

- The @scuoladelcuoio ala “School of Leather” with laboratories and showroom located behind Santa Croce. Classic styles for bags, leather jackets, accessories and more. Really an iconic place to visit
- @benheartitaly: two locations: Via Calazuoli and Via della Vigna Nuova) is my top spot for leather jackets/shoes/custom belts/wallets and bags. One of the few leather brands that allowed me access to where they source/dye/produce their items. This is the real deal.
- @frauleman on Via della Chiesa offers artisanal leather goods (bags, wallets, belts, keychains) by artisan Stephanie. I’m coveting her Sanssouci leather bag and currently her leather keychain accessory range is one of my favourite souvenirs to date.
- Another solid choice in the San Lorenzo neighborhood is @viadeginori23r. They utilize recycled materials for their items, plus you can see their workshop in the back.
